Mila Tahai, MSPH, CIP

Mila Tahai is a pioneering researcher in the field of XR (extended reality) media, with a focus on developing immersive educational experiences. Her groundbreaking work includes the design and evaluation of Scalebridge, an innovative educational game aimed at teaching children proportional reasoning skills. Scalebridge incorporates adaptive level difficulty, utilizing brain-computer interface technology to adjust gameplay based on the player’s attention and meditation state. Tahai’s research demonstrates the effectiveness of Scalebridge in fostering mathematical skills, as evidenced by its ability to achieve educational learning outcomes in both adaptive and non-adaptive versions of the game. Additionally, Tahai’s contributions extend to the realm of interaction techniques, as demonstrated by her development of Watchcasting, a mid-air, watch-based 3D interaction technique. Mila Tahai is the Assistant Director at George Washington University’s Office of Human Research, operating within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research
